545 Main-The Rink

The Rink is a space for people to connect, work, learn and thrive.

The goal of this project is to revitalize this asset into a vibrant space where Middletown’s creative community can live, work and play. The design strategy will have a significant impact on the residents that will live in the units, entrepreneurs who will work there and customers who will patronize businesses.

545 Main Street was built in 1900 and is now part of the Main Street Historic District. The adaptive re-use of the former Holroyd’s Store and Roller Rink into a mixed-use development including seven (7) workforce housing residential units, indoor farm, community event space, shared creative space and resources for small start-ups and small businesses, health and wellness program spaces, and multi-use open market space. Upon completion, the property will eliminate an underutilized downtown building by redeveloping the complex into a variety of uses, which will complement and further strengthen the rebirth of Middletown’s downtown.
