Meigs Point Nature Center

NCA designed the new Meigs Point Nature Center at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, CT. The 4,000 square-foot facility was constructed above the 500-year flood line and will utilize active and passive energy conservation. The design complements the existing nature center and integrates vehicular and pedestrian circulation with the existing parking lot. A new drop off area near the entrance will accommodate two buses. The new center will feature a reception area, public restrooms, 100-seat multi-purpose space, amphibian, reptile and aquatic life exhibits, touch tanks, storage, outdoor covered 40-seat area, and an observation deck.
