Cultural Preservation Center

NCA designed a museum archive and archaeology center for a private client to fit contextual in its historical residential community. Set on a sloping hillside, the building employs modern materials and techniques to carry the client’s heritage into the 21st Century. The museum component boasts new office space, a laboratory and humidity-controlled storage. New exhibit and conference space allow school groups and others to transition through instructional programs and small rotating exhibitions. The archaeology department occupies multiple spaces on the first level of the building, with environmentally-controlled laboratories, an exhaust fume hood, a flotation tank, refrigeration and freezer rooms. The building houses tangible artifacts that preserve the legacy of a proud community.
