“Daniel Burnham left an indelible mark on the built environment when he proclaimed, ‘Make no little plans.’  However, today’s urban housing shortage forces architects to think little and design little.  The new mantra is Make Small Plans.”

J. Michael Abbott, AIA, CNU-A brings over 30 years of experience to the firm.  His leadership has been marked by an abiding interest in historic preservation and adaptive reuse projects. His diverse experience includes working with many buildings listed on the National Register, adaptive reuse studies that incorporate new uses into old structures; and historic research that has led to the reconstruction of missing historic elements and structures.

He is Chairman of the Exeter, Rhode Island Planning Board and former Chairman of the Exeter Zoning Board of Review.  Michael has been selected to speak about New Urbanism and adaptive reuse at many conferences including the American Planning Association Conference and Traditional Building Conference.
