Two early 20th century three-story buildings in disrepair were saved from the wrecking ball when NCA designed their adaptive reuse as supportive housing for 20 veterans with special needs. The exterior shells were retained while a new building was inserted inside. The two buildings were joined by an addition that became the lobby, elevator access and fire stairs for both buildings. The individual apartments are designed to be fully accessible and to enhance the living experience of the disabled clientele.
