FLORENCE GRISWOLD MUSEUM HISTORIC BARN RESTORATION • Old Lyme, CT

The Florence Griswold Museum is considered the home of American Impressionism. Though a humble vernacular structure, the barn was the subject of many famous paintings.  A meticulous restoration allowed for the adaptive reuse of the structure as an exhibit space focusing on garden and landscape history and as a lecture/demonstration space.  NCA worked diligently to ensure that the barn retained its historic character.
